TX AG Ken Paxton Welcomes Dallas Mayor as He Changes Parties from Democrat to Republican

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) welcomed Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson to the Republican Party.

Paxton shared, “Welcome, Mayor!”

Johnson wrote an article for the Wall Street Journal in which he announced his departure from the Democrat party.

The op-ed is titled, “America’s Cities Need Republicans, and I’m Becoming One.”

Johnson wrote, “Today I am changing my party affiliation.

“Next spring, I will be voting in the Republican primary.

“When my career in elected office ends in 2027 on the inauguration of my successor as mayor, I will leave office as a Republican.”

Paxton isn’t alone in welcoming Johnson many Republicans have embarrassed his transition to Republican.

Governor Greg Abbott proclaimed:

“Texas is getting more Red every day. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson switches to Republican Party.

“He’s pro law enforcement & won’t tolerate leftist agendas.

“Two of the 10 largest cities in America now have Republican Mayors & they are both in Texas.”

In his op-ed, Johnson accused Democrats of virtue signaling instead of tackling the problems in their cities.

Johnson shared he plans to make Dallas “the safest major city in America.”

While many major Democrat-run cities continue to decline, Johnson is taking a stance against the do-nothing approach.

He acknowledged the virtue signal approach only hurts the working class.

More and more Democrats are making the transition from Democrat to Republican as they watch the once-beautiful cities decline into rampant chaos.
