In a huge victory for the MAGA movement, Trump-endorsed Bernie Moreno won the Ohio Senate primary after the race was called by the Associated Press.
Moreno will face off against incumbent Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, who has been in office since 2007.
Despite Ohio trending Republican, Brown was able to defeat former U.S. House Rep Jim Renacci in 2018 to hold onto his seat.
Moreno’s primary opponent Matt Dolan had received endorsements from Brown’s predecessor and Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and former U.S. Sen. Rob Portman.
Earlier today, former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who lives in Cincinnati, announced that he had cast his vote for Moreno in the primary.
“Proud to cast my vote today for President Trump & the man who I hope is the next U.S. Senator from Ohio, @berniemoreno,” Ramaswamy said in a post on X.
Ramaswamy then explained, “America-First is about all Americans” and predicted a “Landslide in November.”
In a video shared with his post, Ramaswamy said that he also voted for Trump and that he wanted to see Republicans go the “way of the future.”
