Rep. Ilhan Omar has strongly confronted President Donald Trump after his recent demands for her resignation due to new federal court documents questioning her identity.
In a series of posts on X, she denounced Trump’s assertions, alleging that he was perpetuating conspiracy theories and weaponizing the Justice Department against political adversaries.
Omar, known for her vocal opposition to Trump, did not hold back in her criticism.
“The pedophile protection party’s president is laundering right-wing conspiracy theories through the most corrupt DOJ in American history,” she stated.
She further accused Trump of using her name as a distraction during unfavorable news cycles.
“Whenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let’s make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar,” she added.
The confrontation escalated as she directed a parting shot at Vice President JD Vance.
“Maybe you should focus on what your VP’s real name is,” she remarked.
This exchange arose after Trump called for Omar to step down following a court document suggesting she might have used an alternate name.
The filing, presented by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, referred to her as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.”
According to reports, this was submitted as prosecutors sought to seal documents related to a search of Omar’s D.C. residence.
At a rally in Iowa, Trump jumped on this revelation, insinuating that Omar had been using a false identity as a congresswoman.
“It was just revealed that … her name is not Ilhan Omar, the one that she used to get elected and sworn into Congress,” Trump said, asserting that this warranted her immediate resignation.
He even suggested that her exit could benefit Republicans in the House.
However, presenting an alternate name in legal documents does not inherently indicate fraudulent identity or wrongdoing.
This situation has revived long-standing allegations about Omar’s previous marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, often speculated to be her brother.

Omar has constantly refuted claims regarding that marriage being arranged for immigration purposes.
In a recent discussion, she called the allegations “insane.”
When asked about her relationship with her former husband, she responded, “Not to my knowledge.”
Omar’s office has vigorously defended her, dismissing Trump’s claims and affirming that she has not misrepresented herself.
“This is completely false. Ilhan Omar is her real name,” a spokesperson stated.
The spokesperson labeled the accusations a “desperate smear” and criticized the media for perpetuating the falsehood.
Despite investigations, no definitive evidence has emerged that links Omar to fraudulent actions regarding her identity or marriage.
The ongoing dispute underscores the stark rivalry between Trump and Omar, with Trump pushing for clarity regarding her identity while Omar accuses him of exploiting dubious claims for political advantage.
Federal inquiries are still underway, and neither side seems poised to relent, indicating that this contentious issue will remain in the political spotlight.
The accusations, though unproven, have escalated into a significant public clash between the two figures.
