On Friday, Iran targeted the United Arab Emirates with ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in injuries to three individuals, according to UAE officials. The ongoing regional conflict remains perilous, despite a ceasefire being technically acknowledged.
The UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that its air defenses successfully intercepted the attack, engaging two ballistic missiles and three UAVs from Iranian territory.
President Donald Trump noted U.S. forces executed a minimal retaliation, labeled a “love tap,” aimed at Iranian positions. Administration officials maintained that there is no resumption of war, emphasizing the ceasefire’s continuity.
According to U.S. Central Command, the U.S. action was defensive following Iranian threats directed at American vessels navigating crucial waterways.
While at the Lincoln Memorial’s Reflecting Pool, Trump highlighted the ability of U.S. forces to secure the Strait of Hormuz amid rising tensions.
“Our firepower was far superior,” Trump asserted, further stating that negotiations to conclude the conflict are progressing, though he expressed skepticism about Iran’s commitment.
He revealed that the proposal intended to end hostilities is comprehensive, although he warned of Iran’s tendency to forget agreements.

The UAE characterized the Friday assault as part of a broader campaign rather than an isolated incident. Since the beginning of Iranian aggression, its air defenses have faced numerous tests.
“Since the onset of these overt Iranian assaults, we have intercepted 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,263 UAVs,” the Ministry noted.
The escalation has resulted in approximately 230 injuries across various nationalities. The Ministry of Defense remains vigilant as Iran issues threats toward regional targets and important maritime routes.
“We are fully equipped to confront any threats aimed at undermining our nation’s security and sovereignty,” the ministry declared.
Trump endeavored to showcase solidarity with U.S. allies abroad, despite previous disagreements with European leaders regarding strategies for handling Iran.
Despite these tensions, he asserted that he and the European Commission president are “completely united” in efforts to prevent Iran from achieving nuclear capabilities.
