Fox News shared that FBI Director Christopher Wray has agreed to send the subpoenaed document to the House Oversight Committee.
Chairman of the House Oversight Committee James Comer (R-KY) sent a subpoena for a document that allegedly describes criminal activity that involves Joe Biden and a foreign national. The whistleblower document allegedly shared that Biden took certain actions as a vice president in exchange for payments to his family members.
Wray had missed the May 30th deadline and was threatened with being held in contempt of Congress. According to Fox News, Wray has now agreed to hand over the FD-1023 form that was subpoenaed.
“FBI Director Chris Wray has agreed to hand over the FD-1023 form that Comer has requested, which allegedly shows Biden took $5mill from a foreign national. The standoff appears to be over. Let’s see what happens”
WATCH:
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has also been working to bring the document to Congress. Before Wray agreed to turn over the document Grassley told Fox News, “The FBI has continued to tie itself in knots to ignore a legitimate subpoena from Congress, which has a constitutional duty of oversight. The Bureau’s developed a serious reputation problem through its spate of failures and overreach, and leadership is doing it no favors by attempting to stiff-arm Congress.”
He added, “If FBI leadership truly cares about protecting the agency’s reputation, they’d cooperate. These needless delays only harm the Bureau.”
The White House has accused the lawmakers of launching an “unfounded political attack.”
Wray has yet to provide the document, we will see if there are any more delays.
