Dan Bongino, a prominent conservative voice and former Secret Service agent, has strongly condemned reports regarding an alleged encounter between the CIA and Tulsi Gabbard. He characterized the situation as a serious disgrace, focusing on claims that sensitive files related to the Kennedy assassination and Project MKUltra were seized.
The issue arose when Florida Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna stated that the CIA had conducted a ‘raid’ on Gabbard’s office, allegedly taking documents related to declassification matters linked to historical JFK files and MKUltra.
Luna, who oversees the House Task Force for the Declassification of Federal Secrets, referred to these allegations in a letter regarding testimony before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. According to her, a CIA employee reported that officials collected around 40 boxes of pertinent documents.
This explosive claim generated significant backlash and heightened speculation regarding internal conflicts within the Trump administration concerning transparency and classified information.
Despite these assertions, a spokesperson for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has refuted claims of any ‘raid’ on Gabbard’s office.
Bongino took to his show to express his frustrations over what he termed damaging leaks and infighting surrounding the unfolding story. He criticized media portrayals suggesting that the intelligence agencies were operating outside President Trump’s authority.
“Donald Trump’s CIA, raided or invaded or whatever, unauthorized entry, I don’t know,” Bongino exclaimed, dismissing the narrative of rogue officials undermining the administration.
He argued that such claims are nonsensical and indicated that there are individuals running a covert operation within the White House aimed at weakening the MAGA movement.
As he ranted, Bongino emphasized the unfortunate timing of the controversy, noting that President Trump is currently dealing with crucial international risks involving China.
He decried the leaks connected to the alleged CIA-Gabbard incident as trivial distractions from vital national security matters.
“Why is this even in the media?” he questioned multiple times, casting doubt on the motivations of officials within the administration.
The accusations regarding the JFK records and MKUltra have sparked intense scrutiny from transparency advocates and Trump loyalists, especially given Trump’s previous commitments to enhance declassification efforts concerning the Kennedy assassination.
MKUltra, the CIA’s notorious mind control program from the Cold War era, has long been associated with conspiracy theories and allegations of government secrecy. Meanwhile, the JFK assassination records have become one of the most examined sets of classified documents in U.S. history.
At present, no public evidence has emerged substantiating that a ‘raid’ occurred, with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence continuing to contest Luna’s description of events.
