Bill Clinton Shows Up With Mysterious Bandage At NYC Marathon

Bill Clinton, the former president of the United States, was seen near the New York City Marathon finish line on Sunday. He had a bandage over the tip his nose.

Clinton, aged 79, attended the marathon in order to congratulate Chelsea who took part. Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state and wife to former Vice President Bill Clinton, was also at the race.

At least two photos taken by Associated Press journalist Angelina Katsanis clearly show a bandage covering the tip of the nose as he hugged Chelsea after her place in the event.

As of the publication date, the reason behind the bandage was not made known. The former president’s administration has also yet to make a formal statement. Clinton’s health was in the news in recent years due to his multiple medical issues over the past two decades.

Clinton began experiencing chest pain and shortness in breath at age 58. Tests revealed a life-threatening condition of coronary artery blockages that could reach 90 percent. In order to restore the blood flow to his heart, he underwent an emergency quadruple by-pass surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Clinton’s partial collapsed lungs occurred in 2005. This was likely due to the scar tissue from his heart surgery. Clinton underwent successful surgery at the same New York Hospital in March 2005 to remove scar tissue and fluid from his left lungs.

In 2010, chest pains reappeared, revealing an obstructed native coronary vessel. Doctors inserted two stents to maintain the vessel’s openness during a short hospitalization. Clinton returned quickly to public life and credited his increased energy level with his diet.

Clinton, at 79 years old, has displayed visible frailty. This includes trembling fingers, a raspy voice and a short sidewalk fall in New York. He was also seen wearing a portable defibrillator. Clinton has also been treated for benign cysts, non-melanoma cancers over the years.
