Over the weekend, President Trump proposed the position of White House press secretary to UFC CEO Dana White. However, a source has confirmed that White has turned down the offer, as reported by CNN.
On Saturday, Trump expressed his enthusiasm on Truth Social, stating, “I am pleased to announce that the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior, has been offered the job of Press Secretary of the United States.”
Trump requested White to bring along “assistants,” specifically citing six UFC fighters whose images accompanied his announcement.
“We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!” he added. The White House communications director, Steven Cheung, also encouraged White by remarking, “Hell yeah! Do it, @DanaWhite!”
Despite this offer, White has officially declined:

For years, White has been a prominent supporter of Trump, having spoken at the last three Republican National Conventions and aiding the GOP in reaching young male voters crucial for Trump’s electoral prospects.
Earlier this year, Trump noted, “He introduced me to people I never heard of, young kids.” He remarked on being interviewed by influencers who were much younger, expressing surprise at where White had met them.
However, recent trends indicate that young men have been drifting away from Trump, facing criticism from various figures, including podcaster Joe Rogan, who had previously helped Trump tap into new demographics for 2024.
This summer, the president hosted a UFC event at the White House as part of the 250th-anniversary celebrations, attempting to connect with young male voters. Unfortunately, these efforts did not yield the expected results, as recent midterms saw this demographic leaning toward Democrats, assisting the party in gaining control of both Congressional chambers.
Looking ahead, Trump has hinted at possible staffing adjustments, recently announcing the firing of his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, and replacing her with Stephen Miller, a hardline ally loyal to Trump who will assume the role shortly.
