Vanessa Trump has reached a significant health milestone by triumphing over breast cancer, and she celebrated with a heartfelt family photo featuring her boyfriend, Tiger Woods. This moment reflects the immense support from her loved ones throughout her challenging health journey.
On October 25, she took to Instagram, showcasing Woods, daughter Kai Trump, and one of her sons, illustrating the family bond that was vital during her treatment. Happily, the former daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump announced on Friday that she is cancer-free after a grueling treatment process that began with her diagnosis earlier this year.
The touching photos from her celebration show Vanessa and her family gathered around a ceremonial bell beneath a vibrant “Congratulations” banner, marking the conclusion of her treatment.
During an interview with her daughter and Dr. Nicole Saphier, Vanessa talked about her diagnosis and shared the warning signs she experienced prior to seeking medical help. “For Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I sat down with my daughter and Dr. Nicole Saphier to talk about my journey with breast cancer,” she posted on Instagram.
She expressed gratitude for the love and support she received throughout this long journey, hoping her story inspires others to prioritize health screenings and recognize the importance of early detection.
Diagnosed in April with invasive ductal carcinoma, a specific type of breast cancer that originates in the milk ducts, Vanessa revealed her diagnosis publicly in May.
One early sign was a persistent exhaustion that lasted for months before her diagnosis. She recounted feeling “extremely tired” for about six months, where even simple tasks became challenging.
She noted how she would feel fatigued even after consuming caffeine, which affected her daily routine. As a busy mother of five, she mentioned that the symptoms were easily overlooked, often attributed to the demands of motherhood.
After her diagnosis, Vanessa underwent a lumpectomy to remove the cancerous tissue, followed by three courses of radiation. She also had four lymph nodes removed, all showing no signs of cancer.
A lumpectomy consists of removing a tumor along with some surrounding healthy tissue, per medical guidelines. Vanessa shared that her doctors believed environmental factors contributed to her cancer rather than genetics.
Ultimately, her treatment yielded the positive outcome she had been longing for. After completing a follow-up MRI, Vanessa learned that her “results came back clear.”
Though she has finished her treatment, she will continue regular scans three to four times yearly for the next five to ten years, as part of continuous monitoring.
Additionally, she anticipates taking medication for five to ten years to ensure her ongoing health. This health update comes after Vanessa has kept her personal life mostly private since her relationship with Woods was made public.
The golf legend’s presence during this personal milestone provided a rare glimpse into their life together. Vanessa also took this opportunity to encourage everyone to support treatment initiatives at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, underscoring the critical need for effective cancer care and early detection.
“If sharing my experience encourages even one person to get checked, it’s worth it,” she concluded.
