Trump Convenes in Situation Room as Iran Decision Approaches

President Trump announced on Friday that he is gathering in the Situation Room to finalize decisions regarding Iran, emphasizing the urgency of resolving ongoing tensions, especially concerning the Strait of Hormuz.

Just before meeting with national security advisors, Trump detailed his requirements in a post on Truth Social.

He insisted that Iran must commit to never developing nuclear weapons, and that shipping through the Strait of Hormuz must resume immediately and without tolls. Trump stated that any remaining mines should be removed or detonated, highlighting successful past efforts by U.S. naval forces.

He also indicated a potential lift of the U.S. naval blockade, inviting vessels previously impacted to resume their journeys.

Trump humorously extended his regards to families of those vessels, calling himself their “favorite President.”

Moreover, Trump asserted that the U.S. would lead efforts to uncover buried nuclear materials, claiming collaboration with both Iran and the international nuclear oversight organization.

He explained, “The enriched material, often called ‘Nuclear Dust,’ will be excavated by the United States in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.”

There were strong statements made regarding financial exchanges; Trump noted no money would be involved in the current agreement.

“No money will be exchanged until further notice. Other, less critical matters have already been agreed upon. I will now convene in the Situation Room for a final determination,” he said.

The details of the options to be discussed and the timeframe for potential decisions remain undisclosed, as Iran has not commented on Trump’s described terms.
