Jimmy Kimmel is receiving significant backlash following a disturbing joke about Rudy Giuliani, suggesting the former mayor had “risen from the grave” shortly before he was hospitalized in critical condition.
During a recent episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, Kimmel remarked, “So last night, America’s mayor, Rudy Giuliani, rose from the grave to weigh in on the ongoing drama involving me.” He proceeded to show a clip of Giuliani, now 81, criticizing Kimmel on his podcast.
Giuliani wasted no time in labeling Kimmel as “one of the most distasteful human beings in this country.” Kimmel’s reply was cutting, stating, “I have to say, it hurts to be called distasteful by a man who farted his own pants off in front of Borat’s daughter.”
In the same segment, Giuliani mocked Kimmel’s audience and belittled a parody he had done, saying, “Kimmel was making believe that he was hosting the White House Correspondents’ Dinner… Probably once … and about four people probably watched it, and he bombed like usual.”

Giuliani’s further jab was, “This is supposed to be a comedian. He’s also like an incompetent jacka—.” In return, Kimmel took shots at Giuliani’s past blunders, arguing it was confusing to hear such insults from someone who had inadvertently held a press conference outside a dildo store and had a visible mishap with squid ink.
Kimmel added, “Does this man have any family members who can come get him already?” Unfortunately, just five days after that joke, Giuliani was reported to be in critical but stable condition due to an unknown medical issue, as noted by his spokesperson.
The spokesperson emphasized Giuliani’s resilience, asking supporters to pray for him, stating, “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength… as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
This incident arrives as Kimmel also deals with criticism for a joke about Melania Trump, referring to her as an “expectant widow” during a segment related to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The first lady has publicly voiced her discontent with Kimmel, demanding his dismissal over his remarks.
The backlash intensified after Giuliani’s hospitalization, with many deeming Kimmel’s joke highly inappropriate. Critics are calling it a reckless move, and the circulating clip serves as evidence that late-night comedic politics may have crossed a serious line.
