Gunfire erupted at a gathering of young adults near Arcadia Lake in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Sunday night, injuring at least 13 individuals and prompting an extensive manhunt for the shooters.
At approximately 9 p.m., Edmond police received numerous reports of gunfire near the lake, situated around 13 miles north of Oklahoma City. It’s reported that the victim count may fluctuate, as some individuals preferred to drive themselves to hospitals instead of waiting for ambulances.
A report from a local hospital system indicated that six of the thirteen patients were treated and later released. Among the seven remaining hospitalized, four are in serious condition and three are critically injured. Law enforcement has ensured that the families of all known victims are informed.
As of early Monday, no arrests had been made. Investigators are actively working to identify the suspects. KOKH-TV has reported that two men in ski masks were seen opening fire, although detailed descriptions of the suspects have not yet been provided.
Edmond police spokesperson Emily Ward stated there is no ongoing threat to the public as the investigation progresses.
