Saxophonist Dozes Off During Kamala Harris’s Speech

During a lively awards dinner, Kamala Harris captivated the audience, although one nearby musician appeared to doze off.

At the Beverly Wilshire Hotel for the Public Counsel Awards Dinner, Harris held the stage mid-speech when the saxophonist, positioned nearby, seemed to nod off.

In footage captured, the musician’s eyes were shut, head bowed, while Harris spoke passionately just a few feet away.

There’s a layer of irony here; just as Harris tackled serious themes about ‘No Kings’ rallies and needed long-term strategy, the saxophonist appeared to slip into a peaceful slumber.

To her credit, the evening included a lengthy agenda of speeches, awards, and performances. It’s understandable even seasoned professionals can reach their limit at such formal gatherings, and smooth jazz hardly revs up the energy.

Prior to her speech, Harris received the William O. Douglas Award from Uzo Aduba. She used the platform to praise Gen Z, reinforce her commitment to the Constitution, and call for a vigorous approach to current political challenges.

The saxophonist eventually returned to playing, humorously accompanying Harris offstage, providing a light-hearted moment amidst an otherwise serious evening.
