Newly Released Footage Shows Assault Attempt at WHCD

On Thursday, Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, shared new footage revealing crucial moments from the assassination attempt that occurred at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

This never-before-seen footage was initially submitted to U.S. District Court and illustrates accused gunman Cole Allen interacting with the hotel environment prior to the assault.

In a statement, Pirro stated, “Today, we are releasing video already provided to U.S. District Court showing Cole Allen shoot a U.S. Secret Service officer during his attempt to assassinate the President at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. There is no evidence the shooting was the result of friendly fire.” She also confirmed the ongoing investigation to bring Allen to justice.

The footage spans approximately 5 minutes and 42 seconds, collating high-definition surveillance from various cameras within the Washington Hilton hotel. The first clip captures Allen in a hotel gym on April 24, the day before the event.

On the fateful day of the attack, the video shifts to the security checkpoint, revealing law enforcement officials near metal detectors. Allen, noticeable in a dark overcoat, is seen entering the story before advancing through the checkpoint.

In a shocking moment, he then rushed forward and fired at a Secret Service officer to his right. The footage captures the swift response of nearby officers, who drew their weapons and moved to restrain Allen.

Equipped with a 12-gauge pump-action Mossberg shotgun, a .38 semi-automatic pistol, and several knives, Allen attempted to breach security to reach the event where President Donald Trump was present. Although the video has no audio, it documents the sequence through timestamped visuals.

The content supports earlier investigative findings and confirms previous footage where Allen is seen hastily moving past security. Fortunately, the officer was saved from serious harm by a bulletproof vest.

Cole Allen, the alleged assailant, faces numerous federal charges, including attempted assassination of the President and assault on a federal officer. He also left a manifesto that expressed his support for various left-wing causes and detailed his intentions against President Trump and other officials.
