Federal officials claim they prevented a nightmare Halloween from ever starting.
FBI Director Kash patel appeared on X Friday morning, revealing that agents arrested multiple suspects who were allegedly preparing for a violent attack over the long holiday weekend when millions of Americans are out trick-or treating and celebrating.
For now, details are being kept under wraps. Patel did not say exactly how many people were arrested or what they plotted, but promised more details soon.
According to Jordan Hall, the public affairs officer at FBI Detroit’s field office, agents crawled through Dearborn on Friday “conducting laws enforcement activities” and added that “there is currently no threat to public security.”
The Bureau’s National HQ refused to comment on what happened to the Daily Mail.
It was announced just hours after Donald Trump, who had returned from Asia for a week-long vacation, kicked off the Halloween celebrations at the White House by handing out candy to children in costumes alongside Melania Trump and the First Lady on the South Lawn.
Patel then made the announcement official by posting on Facebook: “This morning, FBI agents arrested several subjects in Michigan for allegedly planning a violent assault over Halloween Weekend.” More details to come.”
Then he praised law enforcement, saying: “Thank you to all the FBI agents and police officers who are on duty 24/7 to fulfill our mission of protecting the homeland.
Michigan, which flipped red in 2024, remains one of the nation’s most competitive battlegrounds — with a Democratic governor and Senate, a Republican-controlled House, and Detroit, a crime-plagued Democratic stronghold regularly blasted by Trump and GOP lawmakers for failed leadership under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Officials from the federal government say that more details on this alleged plot are expected to be made public soon. As of now, the law enforcement officials insist that there is not an active threat. Halloween festivities will continue as we wait to find out what happened.
