Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed tonight that his meeting with President Zelensky in Ukraine was also a disaster.
Bessent went over there to get the mineral rights agreement earlier this year and explained very clearly to Zelenskyy that this was to show Russia that there is no daylight between Ukraine and the US.
It would also give the US an economic interest in the country. But Zelenskyy refused to sign it, apparently not understanding how this was supposed to make the US and Ukraine partners.

It’s really beginning to sound like Zelenskyy is quite simply out of his depth, but there’s no one to replace him because he won’t hold elections. Which means, unless he changes, this won’t end well for him and Ukraine.
