Kirk’s Assassination
Charlie Kirk, 31, was gunned down Wednesday at Utah Valley University.
He was speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Orem, Utah, when he was fatally shot.
The assassination has been described by officials as politically motivated.
Authorities identified the gunman as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Robinson, a Utah resident, was arrested after being turned in by his father.
He is facing aggravated murder charges and is being held without bail.
President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Kirk will posthumously receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Details of the ceremony have not yet been released.
Trump called Kirk a “martyr for truth and freedom.”
