Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) briefly became the center of viral attention Thursday when she fell backward during a Senate vote, landing on the floor after leaning on a small, unstable table.
Video of the incident shows Warren casually resting against the table, which gave way and caused her to fall squarely onto her backside.

Cruz to the Rescue
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was one of the first to rush over and help Warren to her feet. The Massachusetts senator appeared uninjured and even tapped Cruz’s hand in appreciation before walking off.
Other senators also approached to check on her following the fall.
The brief moment of bipartisanship wasn’t lost on social media.
“You see Dems, Republicans will pick you up when you fall,” one user quipped.
“And @tedcruz to the rescue,” added another.
Social Media Reaction
While some viewers offered sympathy, others used the moment to take jabs:
“Good thing she has those strong Native American bones,” one post read, referencing Warren’s past ancestry claims.
“Chief Falling Tree,” another user joked, echoing past conservative mockery of her claimed Native heritage.
The Political Context
The fall came just one day after Warren voted in favor of two failed resolutions led by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) aimed at blocking U.S. arms sales to Israel.
“Netanyahu’s government has created an epic disaster in Gaza,” Warren wrote on X.
“History will remember this moment.”
Warren has emerged as one of the most vocal Senate Democrats opposing U.S. military support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, citing humanitarian concerns in Gaza.
Senate Vote Recap
The resolutions targeted nearly $700 million in arms transfers, including rifles and ammunition.
Both failed to pass, but 27 Democrats supported at least one, marking record dissent among Senate Democrats on Israel aid.
Warren Uninjured, Returns to Work
Despite the spill, Warren appeared unhurt and continued her duties in the chamber. The moment was brief — but, as is often the case in Washington, it was caught on camera and instantly politicized online.
As for Sen. Cruz, his reflex to help a political rival drew a rare moment of praise — even from those who don’t often agree with him.
