Watch: Ben Shapiro Vows to Continue Campus Tour After Charlie Kirk Assassination

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro says he will never again appear at an outdoor event following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

But he promised he will continue speaking on college campuses and other venues despite the increased danger.

Outdoor Events Off Limits

“I’ve told my security team I will never again do an outdoor event,” Shapiro wrote in an op-ed for Bari Weiss’s The Free Press.

“There are too many vantage points, there are too many overlooks,” he explained.

Shapiro said outdoor security is no longer feasible in the current climate.

“There’s an attempt right now to basically say, if you shut up, you will be safe,” Shapiro said.

“If you speak out politically, there’s a good shot that some unhinged actor is going to try and kill you.”

He warned that political figures are now direct targets at public events.

College Tours Continue

Despite the heightened risk, Shapiro said he will continue his college visits.

“I’m planning on a wide variety of campuses,” he said.

“If what Charlie died for means anything, it means we have to keep going into these spaces and having these debates.”

Shapiro compared the new security reality to changes after the September 11 attacks.

“9/11 changed the nature of security,” he said.

“We’re going to have to contain the environment an awful lot more.”

Social Media Message

In a video posted online, Shapiro pledged to carry forward Kirk’s mission.

“We’re going to pick up that blood-stained microphone where Charlie left it,” he said.

“To those who would stop us, I have two words: F*** you.”

“We will never stop debating and discussing,” Shapiro declared.

“We will never stop standing up for what America is and what she should be.”

“And we will never let Charlie Kirk’s voice die.”
