Walmart Sells Merch Celebrating Terrorists Before Pulling It Amid Backlash

Walmart was found to be selling t-shirts with pictures of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, both deceased, but has appeared to remove them from their online store following backlash against the retail chain. The shirts had been flagged by Antisemitism.org, which labeled the shirts “outrageous,” according to a new report.

Two shirts depicted Sinwar, including one that had a picture of the terrorist leader as well as his last name split into “Sin” and “war.” The second shirt featured Sinwar in a caricature form with him shooting what appears to be a cartoonish machine gun. However, these have been removed, according to the Times of Israel. Another shirt, only available in an XXL, had featured a low-resolution photo of deceased Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This shirt was sold by a Texas-based third-party seller on Walmart’s website and was titled “Nasrallah Safe Following Israeli Aristrokes.” Nasrallah was killed in an October 27 airstrike.

After backlash ensued, Stop Antisemitism wrote, “Walmart has removed the listings for all shirts glorifying terrorists Sinwar and Nasrallah. The items were apparently sold by a NJ based DISPATCH.D LLC ; the registered agent of the company is Hadi Sauma.”

On October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a terrorist attack on Israel, killing some 1,200 people as well as taking over 200 hostages. A day later, Hezbollah started shooting rockets at northern Israel and had done so intermittently until a ceasefire was struck in November..

Backlash for the retail chain included one user saying, “Looks like Walmart has had their Target moment right before the holidays,” in reference to Target getting boycotted over trans clothing lines.

Another wrote, “Could you imagine if they put a T Shirt of David Duke on display.”
