The family of Virginia Giuffre, a prominent victim of Jeffrey Epstein who died by suicide in April, is pleading with President Donald Trump to reject a pardon request from Epstein’s convicted accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell.
In a statement obtained by the BBC, Giuffre’s siblings Sky and Amanda Roberts and Danny and Lanette Wilson called Maxwell a “monster” who should “rot in prison for the rest of her life.”
“A predator who thought only of herself, she destroyed the lives of girls and young women without conscience,” the family wrote.
“Anything less than her full sentence would be one of the highest travesties of justice.”
Maxwell Seeks Trump Pardon, Trump “Has Not Thought About It”
Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring, has formally requested a presidential pardon from Trump.
When asked about it last week while aboard Air Force One, Trump said he had “not thought” about granting a pardon.
Giuffre Family Calls Out Trump Over “Shocking” Comments
The family took issue with Trump’s recent comments referencing Virginia, in which he acknowledged that Epstein “stole” a Mar-a-Lago employee — referring to Giuffre, who began working at the Palm Beach resort in 2000 at age 16.
“It was shocking to hear President Trump invoke our sister and say he was aware that Virginia had been ‘stolen’ from Mar-a-Lago,” the family said.
“It makes us ask if he was aware of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s criminal actions.”
DOJ Meetings With Maxwell Also Slammed
The family also criticized the Justice Department’s recent prison meetings with Maxwell, amid reports she is cooperating on sealed matters.
“She has lied under oath and will continue to do so for as long as it affects her position,” they said.
Giuffre’s Legacy and Pain
Giuffre, who had long alleged she was sexually abused by Prince Andrew, had become one of the most outspoken figures in the Epstein scandal. Her family says she suffered greatly for speaking out:
“Virginia always said that Ghislaine Maxwell was vicious and could often be more cruel than Epstein,” the family noted.
Their Final Plea: No Leniency
“We urge President Trump to never consider giving Ghislaine Maxwell any leniency,” the statement concluded.
“She must remain in prison — anything less would go down in history as being one of the highest travesties of justice.”
Background: Giuffre and the Epstein Network
Giuffre had publicly accused Prince Andrew of sexually abusing her at Epstein’s private island, a London townhouse, and a New York residence — all when she was just 17.
She was one of the most prominent voices aiding prosecutors and journalists in exposing Epstein and Maxwell’s inner circle.
