Earlier today a dog was saved by Florida state troopers after it had been tied up and left by someone to helplessly deal with the hurricane on its own.
The dog was standing in water when it was found by troopers:

Pure evil.
If the dog was not rescued, it would have been stuck in wind speeds of up to 150+ mph with storm surges of up to… pic.twitter.com/lKIZWt9Mcm

It’s hard to believe that people could be this evil but I’m so glad that these troopers found the dog and rescued it. And the dog is fine:

DeSantis was asked about this tonight and he responded with fire, calling it an outrage and saying he hoped that law enforcement found the people who did this. He added they should have the book thrown at them.
Watch:
Gov. DeSantis on the dog that was found tied to a pole ahead of Hurricane Milton:
“I hope they find the person who did it, and that person should have the book thrown at him. We’ve got very good laws in Florida against animal cruelty.”
