She asked, “Who is that?” when a student said, “Jesus loves you.”
Other students shouted “freedom of speech” as they filmed the incident.
Kirk’s supporters say the behavior was meant to provoke and demean them.
Vandalism the Next Day
By early Tuesday, students threatened to paint over the tribute.
One male student dumped paint on the rock before the 24-hour courtesy period ended.

Witnesses say conservative students were splashed with paint as they tried to stop it.
Later, the Kirk tribute was painted over with BLM graffiti.

Faulkner says police told them the actions did not rise to arrestable offenses.
Some students reported being body-checked and insulted as “Nazis.”
University Response
UNCW issued a statement acknowledging the incident at the spirit rock.
Officials said the confrontation began as a discussion before turning hostile.
The statement confirmed paint was poured on the rock and some students.
No arrests were made, but police advised students to file reports.
The university emphasized its commitment to free expression on campus.
Conservative Pushback
Faulkner said she and others do not feel safe after the harassment.
She accused campus police of blaming conservative students for the clash.
Other students say the administration should have done more to intervene.
Brendan Chafin said the vandalism showed hatred for Christian conservatives.
