McDonald’s enthusiast Donald Trump could soon be stepping around the counter of his favorite chain to help with the grill and fryer.
Whether he will be able to assemble their Big Mac and prepare their signature french fries in the same slightly crispy and perfectly salted way, however, remains to be seen.
Trump is expected to visit a Pennsylvania McDonalds Sunday and ‘work the fry cooker,’ a source familiar with the matter told CNN.
It comes as the ex-president has repeatedly skewered Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris for ‘lying’ about having worked at McDonald’s in the past.
‘Kamala never had a job at McDonald’s,’ Trump said at a New York press conference at the end of September. ‘Her resume talks about McDonald’s, McDonald’s, McDonald’s.’
Harris, for her part, has repeatedly claimed to work at the Golden Arches.
‘Part of the reason I even talk about having worked at McDonald’s is because there are people who work at McDonald’s in our country who are trying to raise a family and pay rent on that,’ Harris said in an MSNBC interview just a day before Trump’s denouncing her credentials.
‘And I think part of the difference between me and my opponent includes our perspective on the needs of the American people, and what our responsibility then is to meet those needs,’ Harris said in the interview.
‘But it was not a small job, like, I did the fries. I mean, you know, I did.’
But the Trump campaign said Harris has not provided the McDonald’s receipts, saying there are questions that still need to be answered.
‘Why won’t they just provide real documentation and proof? The onus is on them. What does she have to hide?’ Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told the Daily Beast.
The Harris campaign told the outlet that she worked at a location in Alameda, California during the summer if 1983.
Escalating the fast feud further, Trump has been signaling that he would do some labor at McDonald’s at several rallies like one in Pennsylvania where he suggested he would ‘work the french fry job for about a half an hour.’
At an October 10 rally in Reno, Nevada, the ex-president brought it further, saying he was for sure doing it.
‘Do you know what I am doing next week? I am going to a McDonald’s to work!’ he said.
Later in Prescott Valley, Arizona, on Sunday, Trump doubled down.
‘I think next week, or shortly thereafter, I am going to McDonald’s to stand over the french fries so I can see how hard her job that never turned out would be.’
The ex-president apparently has an order involving two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches and plenty of Diet Coke, according to a businessman who recently hosted Trump at the Alabama-Georgia college football game. He has previously been pictured eating a Big Mac on his plane.
