Trump Unveils Strategy and Timeline for Resolving Iran Tensions

President Trump provided a detailed plan for winding down tensions with Iran, including a timeline for military operations and guidance for allies on upcoming steps. His remarks aimed to clarify U.S. objectives in the unfolding situation.

Discussing military successes, Trump turned to the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial corridor for oil and gas exports from the region. This area is known for its significance in global oil transport, handling around 20 million barrels daily before tensions escalated.

Trump asserted that the U.S. no longer needed to maintain a permanent presence for Middle Eastern oil resources, stating, “We’re now totally independent of the Middle East, and yet we are there to help.” He emphasized that support for allies was paramount, urging those reliant on the Strait to take charge of securing their interests.

He encouraged allied nations to muster the courage needed to manage the strait themselves. Trump highlighted that Iran’s military strength had been diminished significantly, allowing foreign powers to control this key maritime route.

In outlining the continuation of military operations, Trump shared a timeline, suggesting that the U.S.’s military goals were nearing completion and that intensified efforts would occur over the next two to three weeks.

“Over the next two to three weeks, we’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong,” he stated confidently.

Trump characterized the campaign, named Operation Epic Fury, as having produced “swift, decisive, overwhelming victories” and expressed optimism about reaching the campaign’s objectives soon. He compared the duration of U.S. involvement, now lasting 32 days, to major historical conflicts to underline the brevity of the current situation.

Looking ahead, Trump confirmed that operations will continue targeting remaining Iranian capabilities with a focus on missile production and naval assets. While acknowledging a shift in the Iranian leadership toward a less radical stance, he insisted that U.S. forces would remain active until all objectives were fully met.

In his address, Trump spoke for approximately 19 minutes, marking his first national address since the conflict started on February 28. He concluded with a hopeful vision for America’s future, stating, “The world is watching, and when we do, when it’s all over, the United States will be safer, stronger, more prosperous, and greater than it has ever been before.”

“May God bless the men and women of the United States Armed Forces, and may God bless the United States of America. Thank you very much and good night.”
