President Donald J. Trump reportedly told donors during a private 2024 fundraiser that he warned both Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping in no uncertain terms that if they dared launch invasions, there would be hell to pay — literally.
In leaked audio obtained by journalists and previewed in the book 2024, Trump described issuing stern threats that may have kept both Ukraine and Taiwan safe during his first term.
“With Putin I said, ‘If you go into Ukraine, I’m going to bomb the **** out of Moscow,’” Trump said. When Putin doubted him, Trump said he replied: “Way.”
Trump said he delivered a similar warning to Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping:
“If you go into Taiwan, I’m going to bomb the **** out of Beijing.”Xi thought Trump was crazy — but “he believed me 10 percent… and we never had a problem.”
The comments, captured in recordings from fundraisers in New York and Florida, have since gone viral.
