Trump Reveals Major Ceasefire Deal with Iran

President Donald Trump has revealed that the United States and Iran are nearing a ceasefire agreement aimed at halting the ongoing conflict and ensuring the crucial Strait of Hormuz remains open while discussions for a long-term deal proceed.

In a Truth Social announcement made just before his ultimatum, Trump stated, “Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks.” Trump noted.

The President explained that the U.S. has accomplished key military objectives, including impairing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and missile capabilities. “This is because we have already met and surpassed all Military objectives, and are in a strong position to finalize an Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East,” he added.

Details of the Agreement

Trump described the arrangement as a 10-point proposal from Iran that lays a “workable basis” for future negotiations. He emphasized, “Almost all past points of contention have been resolved between the United States and Iran, but a two-week period will be beneficial for finalizing and solidifying the Agreement.”

“As President of the United States, and representing the countries of the Middle East, it is an honor to see this prolonged issue heading towards resolution,” Trump stated.

This announcement follows rigorous discussions involving regional mediators, particularly from Pakistan. Trump had previously promised extensive attacks on Iranian infrastructure, which would have targeted vital facilities such as power plants and bridges, if no agreement had been reached by his deadline.

Reportedly, Axios correspondent Barack Ravid indicated that Israel has supported the ceasefire agreement and will refrain from its strikes on Iran for at least two weeks. “The White House official remarked that the ceasefire will take effect with Iran’s opening of the Strait of Hormuz,” he noted.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council heralded the agreement as a “historic victory” that fulfills various strategic objectives. The regime asserts that it will retain control over the Strait of Hormuz by establishing a “safe transit protocol.”

The administration also claims the proposal includes provisions for a nonaggression pact, relief from sanctions, and military de-escalation in the region.

This is an evolving situation, and updates will be shared as they arise.
