Trump Announces Major Progress in Iran Negotiations

President Trump announced that negotiations with Iran have progressed significantly and are in their final phase. He stated that an agreement is largely in place, pending final details among involved parties.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared, “An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed.” Notably, he emphasized that major elements are being finalized for announcement soon.

Among the core issues discussed is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical passageway for global oil. Trump detailed his conversations with regional leaders from nations such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt regarding a peace framework involving Iran.

He noted that they have reached a strong foundational agreement, but that further discussions are underway to finalize the details. The Strait of Hormuz remains a focal point, with its strategic importance underscored by prior global oil trade statistics.

In media comments, Trump evaluated the likelihood of a final agreement as about 50%. He mentioned that recent proposals are under review and suggested a resolution could be imminent, possibly within the next day.

Trump reiterated that any agreement must align with U.S. objectives, particularly concerning restrictions on Iran’s nuclear development. Today’s updates follow the conclusion of the fifth round of talks in Rome, which saw some movement on various key issues.

While no conclusive final deal was reached in these discussions, both sides agreed to keep the dialogue open. The emphasis now shifts toward resolving the remaining technical details.

Market analysts along with regional partners are closely observing developments, considering the implications for energy prices and geopolitical security. Though a complete draft of the memorandum has not been released, Trump’s comments indicate notable progress is being made.

Further negotiations are anticipated in the days ahead as all parties work to tie up the loose ends of the agreement.
