Sunny Hostin, the most deranged and radical co-host of ABC’s The View, was forced to read a legal note out on air after smearing Matt Gaetz as a sex offender.
On Tuesday’s edition of the show, Hostin attempted to link Gaetz to spurious allegations of sex trafficking initiated under Joe Biden’s corrupt Department of Justice.
“How could you nominate someone with allegations of child trafficking across state lines and having sex with a 17-year-old,” she said.
“My understanding further on in the interview they discuss the fact that once he found out she was 17 he stopped having sex with her.”
Hostin was then asked to read out a “legal note” clarifying the situation live on air.
“Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations, calling the claims invented and saying in a statement to NBC News that this false smear following a three year criminal investigation should be viewed with great skepticism,” she said.
“The DOJ investigation was closed with no charges being brought.”
Gaetz, a firebrand conservative Congressman from Florida, was nominated by Donald Trump as his prospective Attorney General, meaning he will lead the Department of Justice and have the power to execute prosecutions against the many officials who have engaged in corruption and political persecution.
According to a report from Axios, Trump feels personally invested in getting Gaetz’s nomination approved by the Senate. He has personally called various Republican Senators asking them to confirm him to the role.
Among those to receive a call was North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer, who said that Trump strongly believes that Gaetz is the man to clean up corruption the Department of Justice.
“He clearly wants Matt Gaetz,” he told Axios. “He believes Matt Gaetz is the one person who will have the fearlessness and ferociousness, really, to do what needs doing at the Department of Justice.”
“One thing about Donald Trump, people should never confuse his support for one of his nominees as a tactical or strategic tool for somebody else,” he continued. “And at least to this point, he’s putting his own political capital behind it. And he’s a pretty persuasive guy.”
