The day following the Supreme Court’s decision to take former President Donald Trump’s immunity case, it seems that Hollywood celebrities have been tasked with a mission: to tarnish and discredit the court in the eyes of the American public.
With alarming intensity, Hollywood celebrities are attempting to stoke public outrage, seizing upon the ruling as a chance to advocate for the Democratic agenda of court-packing and targeting Justice Clarence Thomas for more political persecution.
The Sopranos star Steven van Zandt wrote on X: “Thomas needs to be in jail.”
“The country needs to know what this Supreme Court decision means. It ends any possibility of justice for Trump. It ends the concept of ‘no man is above the law.’ Adding to its vile blatant violation of the separation of Church and State, it becomes the most corrupt Court in history,” he added.
Actress Ellen Barkin simply wrote: “F**k the Supreme Court.”
CBS’ Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer wrote: “SCOTUS has lost its last shred of legitimacy. Slow walking the immunity case is the final straw. Dems must push to expand the court, add 18-year term limits, and a full ethics investigation of Clarence Thomas.”
Barbra Streisand also sounded the alarm, warning that Trump may not face trial until after the election.
“The GOP Supreme Court just insured the nation will not receive a verdict in Trump’s attempted coup trial before the election. Trump’s immunity claim is preposterous,” she wrote.
Rob Reiner seemed to call the Supreme Court a “cancerous threat to Democracy.”
“Republicans in the Senate refused to hold Trump accountable for leading a violent attempt to overthrow the US Government. Now Republicans on the Supreme Court have just given him a get-out-of-jail-free card. It’s now up to voters to rid US of this cancerous threat to Democracy,” he wrote.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court agreed to take up former President Donald Trump’s request to determine if he holds immunity from criminal prosecution for actions taken while in office.
This decision deals a substantial setback to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s case, as it could delay the trial until after the November election.
Democrats have been eager for a Trump conviction before November as they continue their ongoing efforts to derail his campaign to reclaim the White House.
