Texas Lt. Governor Warns Biden Not to Escalate Border Crisis

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick has urged President Biden not to take aggressive action against the Texas National Guard on the southern border.

The Biden administration has given Texas 24 hours to leave the Eagle Pass area, but the Lone Star State has maintained that it has the power to defend the southern border, since President Biden has no interest in enforcing immigration law.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked Lt. Gov. Patrick whether he was worried about the Biden administration escalating the situation.

“The biggest mistake the Biden administration could make would be confronting law enforcement or our military, our National Guard, at our border, at this park, when we’re actually doing the job that the American people want,” Patrick said. “So if they come down and create a situation, all of America already knows now, they will clearly see that the Democrats are willing to take on a state that is operating under our constitutional the Democrats are willing to take on a state that is operating under our constitutional right to protect our people.”

As reported by Trending Politics, governors from 25 states have voiced support for Texas and its attempts to prevent the unprecedented flow of illegal immigrants crossing the southern border. Several states, including Oklahoma, Iowa, and Florida, have gone above and above by pledging to deploy national guard members and equipment to Texas.

Former President Trump has also expressed support for Texas and the efforts of red state governors.

“When I am President, on Day One, instead of fighting Texas, I will work hand in hand with Governor Abbott and other Border States to Stop the Invasion, Seal the Border, and Rapidly Begin the Largest Domestic Deportation Operation in History. Those Biden has let in should not get comfortable because they will be going home,” the former president wrote on Truth Social.

The Biden administration has granted Texas 24 hours to let Border Patrol officers to enter Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, a public space that has been a favorite staging place for enormous caravans of illegal immigrants. Texas local police and national guard members seized control of the park earlier this month and refused to let federal authorities in.
