Liberals erupted on social media this week over a new American Eagle ad featuring actress Sydney Sweeney — accusing it of promoting “Nazi propaganda” and “eugenics” simply because the script used a pun about blue jeans and “good genes.”
The short ad shows Sweeney modeling denim while making a lighthearted comment: “Genes are passed down from parents to children. I have good jeans. My jeans are blue.”
TikTok Activists Call It ‘Fascist’
The ad triggered an outpouring of rage from left-wing TikTok users, nearly all of them young women, who claimed the ad had hidden white supremacist messaging because Sweeney is blonde and blue-eyed.

“That’s Nazi propaganda!” one woman said in a viral rant.

“It’s giving 1940s Germany,” another said.

“This is literal eugenics slapping everyone in the face,” claimed a third, while insisting only disabled people and women of color could understand the danger.
Others accused American Eagle of promoting “fascist weird” messages and called the ad “ethnic state propaganda.”
Conservative Response
The reaction from the right was swift and ruthless.
Conservatives on X ridiculed the critics as unhinged and delusional, mocking the idea that a jeans ad with a pun somehow equates to Nazi ideology.
“Sydney Sweeney says she has good jeans. The left: ‘This is Hitler all over again!’” one user posted sarcastically.
Another quipped, “This is what happens when your brain is 90% TikTok and 10% common sense.”
American Eagle Stands by the Ad
Despite the uproar from fringe activists, American Eagle has made no move to pull the ad, and Sydney Sweeney has not responded to the accusations.
The controversy has only fueled more attention to the campaign — and likely helped boost sales.
