Swalwell’s Allegations Suppressed for Months, Claims Gubernatorial Candidate

Steve Hilton, a former Fox News host and current frontrunner in the California governor race, has expressed concerns that the Democratic Party had been aware of serious allegations against Eric Swalwell for an extended period, yet opted to conceal them.

In a recent interview with Breitbart News, Hilton stated, “We had heard all of this months ago, from various sources, including reporters and individuals connected to the Democratic machine in California.”

He emphasized that both Capitol Hill and Sacramento were aware of the allegations during Swalwell’s candidacy. Despite the ongoing reports, major Democratic figures like Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Senator Adam Schiff openly endorsed Swalwell, receiving support from significant labor organizations, including teacher unions.

Hilton indicated that the Democrats’ recent statements condemning Swalwell appear disingenuous, coming only after public interest in the allegations surged.

These comments followed Swalwell’s recent suspension of his gubernatorial campaign and his subsequent resignation from Congress. The allegations against him include accusations from at least four women.

One of the former staffers claimed that Swalwell sexually assaulted her at a New York hotel in 2024, describing how intoxication affected her ability to consent. Another accuser, Lonna Drewes, publicly stated that Swalwell raped her in 2018 after allegedly drugging her. Additional complaints involve unsolicited sexual images and inappropriate conduct.

While Swalwell has denied the more severe claims of assault, he acknowledged past “mistakes in judgment.” In response to these claims, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has initiated a criminal investigation and urged any additional victims to step forward. The House Ethics Committee has also commenced an investigation into the aforementioned misconduct.
