French rugby captain Quentin Philippe and two friends were killed in an avalanche near Courmayeur in the Italian Alps, according to reports in France.
Philippe, 29, went skiing with Hugo Neuville, 31, and Alexis Rassat, 35, after their match was called off last weekend. The three were caught in an avalanche, the reports said.
One of the men died at the scene. A second died in a hospital shortly after being found. A third died in a hospital on Monday after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to reports.
