Shooting Incident at Virginia University Leaves Two Injured

This morning, a shooting incident unfolded at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, leading to injuries for two individuals before the suspect was neutralized by authorities.

The event occurred around 10:50 a.m. in Constant Hall, as reported by ODU. The injured were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, although details regarding their conditions were not immediately available.

Logan Hayes, a sophomore at ODU, recounted the chaos. He was in the middle of a test when a fire alarm triggered his escape from the building. Outside, he heard numerous gunshots amid widespread panic and screams.

Police responded rapidly, securing the area and assisting students in finding safety as officers flooded the scene.

In the aftermath, the university canceled all classes and activities for the day. Officials strongly advised the public to steer clear of Constant Hall and its vicinity while emergency teams continued their work.

ODU issued an urgent campus alert warning of an active threat. Students and staff were instructed to adhere to standard active shooter protocols.
