Sheriff Issues Warning After Pizza Delivered To Nancy Guthrie Crime Scene

Authorities in Arizona found themselves addressing an unexpected distraction this week after a pizza delivery was sent to the home of missing 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie while the property remains part of an active investigation.

The incident unfolded as law enforcement continues to search for Guthrie, whose disappearance has drawn national attention. Her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson has been treated as a focal point in the investigation, with deputies and federal agents working the scene in recent days.

Despite the heightened law enforcement presence, a Domino’s pizza delivery driver was seen walking up to the home and attempting to deliver food. Video circulating online shows the driver approaching the front steps before ultimately leaving the property.

The delivery prompted the Pima County Sheriff’s Department to issue a public warning, urging members of the public and media not to order food or other deliveries to the address while the investigation is ongoing.

“We can’t believe we have to say this, but media on scene: please do not order food delivery to a crime scene address,” Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. “This interferes with an active investigation. Please also respect private property laws. Thank you.”

According to reports from the scene, the pizza was ordered by someone not affiliated with law enforcement. It was reportedly intended for a journalist or blogger covering the case nearby. The delivery driver indicated he was unaware that the residence belonged to Nancy Guthrie or that it was connected to a crime scene.

The unexpected pizza delivery came as the FBI and local law enforcement continued an intensive, ongoing search tied to Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. While the delivery itself did not alter the course of the investigation, officials made clear that distractions at an active crime scene are taken seriously. As the search enters another day, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and are asking the public to allow investigators to do their work without interference.

Investigators pressed ahead Wednesday with expanded search efforts in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson, Arizona. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, working alongside the FBI, conducted ground searches along nearby roadways and desert terrain while canvassing residents for additional surveillance footage. Authorities are specifically seeking doorbell and security video from the night of January 11 and the morning of January 31, when Guthrie was last seen at her home.

During Wednesday’s search, agents recovered a pair of black gloves near the area — an item that closely resembles what the masked individual was seen wearing in previously released surveillance footage. The gloves are now undergoing DNA testing to determine whether they are connected to the suspect captured on camera approaching Guthrie’s front door before her disappearance. Officials have confirmed that bloodstains found inside the home belong to Guthrie and believe she was taken against her will.

The case has generated thousands of tips since images of the masked suspect were released to the public. Law enforcement has detained and questioned at least one individual, though that person was later released and is not currently considered a suspect.

Authorities have indicated that additional detainments are possible as they continue processing leads. A white tent remains set up outside Guthrie’s home as evidence teams examine the scene, and a reward is still being offered for information leading to her recovery. The investigation remains active, with officials saying they are pursuing every available lead.
