Sean “Diddy” Combs will be eligible for release from federal prison in 2028, according to the Bureau of Prisons.
The 55-year-old disgraced rap mogul was sentenced earlier this month to more than four years behind bars after being convicted on federal prostitution charges.
Prison Release Date
Records show Combs is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028.

In addition to his 50-month sentence, the court imposed five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine.
Federal prosecutors had sought more than 11 years, arguing Diddy showed no remorse for his crimes.
Where He’ll Serve Time
Combs’ attorney, Teny Geragos, has asked that her client be assigned to FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional institution in southern New Jersey.
In her Oct. 6 letter to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, Geragos said Fort Dix would allow Diddy to “address drug abuse issues” and “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts.”

The facility is located about 90 minutes from New York City and an hour from Philadelphia, making it accessible for family visits.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, Fort Dix houses just over 4,100 inmates — including roughly 3,900 in the main facility and about 200 in a nearby minimum-security camp.
The institution sits on a U.S. Air Force base and includes a residential drug abuse treatment program (RDAP) that Diddy’s legal team wants him to enter.
However, the Bureau of Prisons will make the final decision on his placement.
Conviction and Trial
A jury convicted Combs on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution on July 2.
He was acquitted of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
Prosecutors described the once-powerful music producer as “unrepentant” and called for a “substantial sentence” in their filing.
Behind Bars Since 2024
Combs has been in federal custody since September 16, 2024, when he was first arrested.
His attorneys have complained that the rapper has endured “inhumane” conditions while incarcerated.
They claim he has been held under “constant suicide watch” and denied basic necessities like clean water, functioning laundry machines, and regular meals.
Reports also allege that Diddy’s food has been contaminated and that he has been denied physical therapy and exercise.
Final Appeal Rejected
Days before his sentencing, Judge Subramanian denied Combs’ last-minute request for a new trial and full acquittal.
The judge ruled that the prosecution had provided “overwhelming evidence” of Diddy’s guilt on the prostitution-related charges.
