Rudy Giuliani Advances Toward Remarkable Recovery

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is on a path to a significant recovery after being hospitalized for pneumonia over the weekend. At 81 years old, his health has been a concern, but recent updates indicate improvement.

Giuliani was admitted to a hospital near West Palm Beach, Florida, after suffering from severe respiratory issues. Initial reports described his condition as “touch and go,” but the recovery that followed has been termed “remarkable” by medical sources.

Medical professionals will continue to watch Giuliani closely following his release from intensive care. Growing optimism surrounds his recovery, aided by prayers and support from many.

Dr. Maria Ryan, Giuliani’s primary care provider, shared positive news about his condition. She revealed that he had faced critical health challenges, even requiring last rites from a priest—a serious sacrament for those close to death.

“He’s a fighter. The way he was yesterday in such critical condition, he did have a priest come anoint him. And all the prayers from around — it’s like a miracle. This guy’s got nine lives; today he’s doing much better,” Dr. Ryan emphasized.

Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s spokesman, reported that the former mayor is now able to breathe independently, with family and doctors at his side during recovery.

Giuliani’s health crisis began with a diagnosis of double pneumonia that escalated quickly, complicated by pre-existing restrictive airway disease linked to his exposure at Ground Zero after the September 11 attacks.

This underlying issue expedited the infection’s impact on his body. Initially, he needed a ventilator during the peak of his illness. Updates in the days following indicated that he had improved significantly and was off the ventilator.

This health scare came months after Giuliani sustained injuries in a car accident in August 2025, which included a fractured thoracic vertebra. Before his hospitalization, he hosted his online program and noted he was feeling “a little under the weather.”

Goodman reminded supporters that Giuliani is still under observation, urging everyone to continue sending their prayers for his full recovery.
