Former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell, 63, is showing off her dramatic weight loss, crediting the prescription drug Mounjaro for helping her drop several clothing sizes since late 2022.
In her latest Instagram post, O’Donnell said she’s now a size 12, calling the diabetes medication a “life saver” as she modeled a fitted black tracksuit while shopping for a long flight to Australia.
“I can’t see myself in this new smaller body… I am shocked I’m a 12 — #mounjaro is a life saver,” O’Donnell wrote in the caption.
Celebrities Take Notice
Her post drew praise from fellow celebrities, including actress Kristin Chenoweth, who told her, “You look amazing!” Other commenters called the medication “life changing” and applauded O’Donnell for looking healthier and happier.
What Mounjaro Is
According to the manufacturer, Mounjaro is an injectable prescription drug used alongside diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. Weight loss is a common side effect.
O’Donnell began using Mounjaro in late 2022, revealing in January 2023 that she’d lost 10 pounds over the holidays. She credited the medication, cutting back on sugary drinks, and increasing her activity level for the results.
Lifestyle Changes
The comedian says she now drinks only water, avoids Diet Coke, and eats less sugar. She also cooks for herself and her child instead of relying on a chef, and says her appetite has dropped significantly.
In March, O’Donnell said she was “shocked” to discover she was a size large while shopping in Dublin — down from an XL or XXL. She’s also reported sleeping better and feeling healthier overall.
O’Donnell has continued to post updates on social media, recently sharing a stand-up photo with the caption: “I can’t believe this is me now #mounjaro #weightloss #bodydysmorphia.”
