Isra Hirsi, daughter of far-left “Squad” Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), is now selling her used clothes online after her radical anti-Israel protests landed her in handcuffs and temporarily suspended her from Columbia University’s Barnard College.
The 22-year-old activist took to Instagram this week to reveal she’s now unemployed and resorting to selling her wardrobe on Depop, a thrifting platform.
“Unemployment got me,” she wrote to her 82,000 followers.
Hirsi is listing everything from Dr. Martens boots ($50) to $15 skirts — but appears to have held onto her Versace sunglasses, which retail for $250, according to the Free Beacon.
From Ivy League to “Homeless and Starving”
Hirsi was suspended from Barnard College, a $90,000/year liberal arts institution, in April 2024 after her anti-Israel demonstration turned aggressive.
Despite the chaos and arrest, Barnard — under pressure from the radical left — later reversed the suspensions, allowing Hirsi and others to graduate.
At the time, Hirsi claimed she was “homeless and starving” as a result of her brief suspension.
In May, she walked across the stage at graduation waving a large Palestinian flag, posting that she graduated “despite what Barnard, Columbia, and the internet wanted.”
Radical Legacy: Like Mother, Like Daughter
Isra Hirsi is following directly in her mother’s footsteps, embracing the same anti-Israel activism and socialist rhetoric that made Ilhan Omar one of the most controversial figures in Congress.
Rep. Omar celebrated her daughter’s graduation, ignoring the protests, arrests, and anti-Semitic rhetoric.
“I am so proud of you, Isra,” Omar wrote.
“…a righteous fight against Columbia University’s support of genocide.”
Unemployed — and Unwanted?
Months later, Hirsi remains unemployed, and while she hasn’t connected her joblessness to her radical activism, many major employers have made it clear they are not hiring pro-Hamas agitators.
Among them:
-
Sullivan & Cromwell (top global law firm)
-
ExxonMobil, whose CEO Darren Woods said:
“Harassment and intimidation… have no place at universities — or at ExxonMobil.”
Entitled and Arrested
During her April 2024 arrest, Hirsi was photographed looking shocked and dismayed as police put her in handcuffs for trespassing and obstruction at Columbia’s “Gaza Solidarity Encampment.”
Hours earlier, she posted defiantly on social media:
“We will stand resolute until our demands are met… divestment from companies complicit in genocide… FULL amnesty for all students facing repression.”
