Over 140 House Democrats are urging for the reinstatement of the provision in the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act that allows for the restriction of veterans from purchasing or owning firearms under specific circumstances.
For many years, the VA has been reporting veterans with mental health concerns to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). These concerns encompass situations where veterans utilize a fiduciary to handle their VA benefits. However, this year, the Senate, through an amendment proposed by Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA), repealed the gun ban in the Clinton-area.
Kennedy said, “Unelected bureaucrats shouldn’t be able to strip veterans of their Second Amendment rights unilaterally. The Senate did the right thing for veterans and all freedom-loving Americans by passing my amendment today.”
The House Democrats are expressing their discontent and urging for the reinstatement of the gun ban in the appropriations bill.

The letter says:
“The Kennedy Amendment rolls back 30 years of common-sense precedent and practice which ensures that veterans who are deemed to be “mentally incompetent” are added to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). The current process used by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to make a competency determination as required by law, includes an opportunity for appeals, helps ensure that veterans who are a danger to themselves or others are flagged in the background check system if they try to purchase a firearm.”
I wonder why they are so scared now after the 2nd being in existence for 250 years?…Gee anyone would think they are planning a communist take over or something
And guns being in veterans’ possession all those years too.

Who’d you pick to be the most consistent group of dedicated, proud-of-America, and willing to fight/die for her? Right! The Veterans. Why does this tyrannical government want to deny THEM guns you ask? Right again! Cause not only will they be the first to stand up and fight for her again but also – teach us how to do it.
What these dicks better consider, that the vets they’re trying to prevent from owning guns, are people who know how to use them. They need to remember that there are plenty of snipers in that group too. Just sayin. One of these days the Democrats will push too far.

They don’t want vets to have guns because they are all trained how to use guns in a war situation such as a field of fire and so on this scares the communists out of their minds because they think these guys might resist when the communists decide to take over the country and start the killing as all communists do when the get total control and don’t let anyone tell you they don’t because they all ways do. That is the reason. The democrat party no longer exists it has turned into the communist party of the USA and they are going to take control sooner or later.
This won’t be popular, but SOME of our veterans are giving the gun-grabbers ammunition to support legislation like this. Example, some Air Force clown in Arizona was caught on video pointing a handgun at a teenage girl TWICE in a road-rage incident. His defense? His PTSD made him do it. And by the way, since I know many people in my military town who are retired or still work on base, PTSD is becoming a very popular reason for claiming disability. It’s not a stretch to think the leftists in our government, including the woke VA, and medical professions will try to classify vets with PTSD as “mental defectives” in order to prohibit them from owning a firearm.
The normals will fight to the death.
