A longtime television hair and makeup artist was fatally shot by her son inside her Arlington, Virginia, apartment on Sunday morning, police said.
Renee Travis Baldwin, 57, was shot just before 8:30 a.m. and later died at a nearby hospital, according to Fox 5 DC.
Her son, Logan Chrisinger, 27, remained at the scene and was taken into custody.
He is being held without bond at the Arlington County Detention Facility and has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Baldwin had an extensive career in television, working at outlets including ABC, ESPN, and most recently, Newsmax, where she provided hair and makeup services for anchors.
Newsmax host Greta Van Susteren mourned the loss on social media, writing:
“What a sadness… my Newsmax make up artist of 3 ½ years, and years at @ABC @ESPN etc and a friend to all her colleagues… was murdered over the weekend. [S]he did my make up Friday for the show and of course I never dreamed that would be the last time I would see her”.
Newsmax White House producer Marisela Ramirez also paid tribute, calling Baldwin “Heaven’s newest angel.”
In a heartfelt message, Ramirez described Baldwin as having “a giving heart and a gypsy spirit but really she was a quiet warrior, supporting her family and carrying the weight of a household on her shoulders — without complaints” .

Baldwin’s colleagues remembered not just her professional skill, but also her personal warmth. Ramirez noted her habit of playing with her clients’ hair while they confided in her, saying Baldwin treated people “with the gentleness of a mother.”
