New Poll Reveals GOP Frontrunners For Seat Vacated By MTG

A new survey from top-rated pollster Quantus Insights shows a wide-open scramble to replace former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District, with no candidate close to consolidating the Republican base and more than a third of voters still undecided.

The poll shows a fractured Republican field and a massive bloc of undecided voters, setting the stage for a wide-open special election with no clear runaway favorite.

In the congressional ballot test, 36 percent of registered Republican voters said they are undecided, the largest share by far. Another 16.7 percent backed an unnamed “other” candidate, underscoring the race’s volatility and the lack of consolidation behind a single contender.

Former state Sen. Colton Moore leads the named candidates with 13.4 percent, narrowly ahead of businessman Clay Fuller at 12.6 percent. Brian Stover follows at 9.1 percent, with Nicky Lama at 5.7 percent and Jim Tully at 3.1 percent. Christian Hurd and Reagan Box trail in low single digits.

No candidate cracks 15 percent support, highlighting how early the race remains and how much room there is for movement once voters begin to focus on the field.

The same survey also tested a hypothetical Republican U.S. Senate primary, offering a broader snapshot of GOP sentiment in Georgia. That contest is similarly unsettled, with 40.2 percent of respondents undecided.

Rep. Mike Collins remains the early leader among named candidates with 24.6 percent support, putting him well ahead of the rest of the field. Nearly one in five voters, 19.8 percent, said they would support another candidate not listed.

Former University of Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley polls at 9.6 percent, while Rep. Buddy Carter draws 5.7 percent.

The results suggest Republican voters are still shopping, but Collins remains the clear leader, with name recognition and consolidation likely to play an outsized role in the coming weeks.

The survey sampled 729 registered Republican voters in Georgia and was fielded Jan. 26 and published Jan. 29, 2026. It was sponsored by Trending Politics News and conducted via targeted SMS text outreach. The margin of error is plus or minus 3.9 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.
