New Details Emerge in Alleged Assassination Plot Against Charlie Kirk

Newly released court documents provide insight into what prosecutors claim was a premeditated attempt to kill conservative figure Charlie Kirk, featuring a handwritten note and alarming messages supposedly sent by Tyler Robinson.

The records, made public recently, include a full note that Robinson purportedly wrote for his partner, Lance Twiggs, identified in the filings as a transitioning individual. Addressing Twiggs as ‘Luna,’ the note connects to a text Robinson allegedly sent following the shooting at Utah Valley University in September 2025.

“Luna, if you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry,” the note starts, following a text directing Twiggs to “look under my keyboard.” Authorities discovered the letter underneath the keyboard in the townhouse they shared in St. George.

The message continues, “I left the house this morning on a mission, and set an auto text. I am likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison sentence. I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it.” Robinson conveyed uncertainties about the outcome but expressed a wish to return to Twiggs.

“I lack the words to express how much I love you, and how very much you mean to me. Please try and find joy in this life. I love you, always, -Tyler,” he wrote, according to the documents.

Law enforcement claims that the note and text messages indicate prior planning and Robinson’s attempts to avoid capture post-shooting. The filings also detail Robinson’s frantic texts during the police lockdown and manhunt.

“I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. Its quiet [sic], almost enough to get out, but theres one vehicle lingering,” Robinson reportedly texted.

He described watching police activity: “Three hours ago there was an officer with a k9 walking nearby, hoping that pooch has a bad sniffer.” He showed clear regret for his decisions, stating, “Im wishing I had circled back and grabbed it as soon as I got to my vehicle.”

Robinson also shared his thoughts on potentially reuniting with Twiggs, suggesting he might not be able to escape. He texted, “I’m sorry, but I think this might be it. If the way is clear I can try and come your way to say goodbye… I have no intention of being drug through the courts in front of the country. Can I come see you?”

Twiggs attempted to maintain cover, messaging that he was engaging in normal activities. The situation escalated quickly, leading up to Robinson being turned in by his father the following day.

Now 22, Robinson faces capital murder charges and is currently in custody as legal proceedings advance. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 17, where discussions about courtroom access, including the use of cameras, are anticipated.
