New Controversy Surrounds James Talarico’s Senate Campaign Amid Growing Backlash

In Texas, James Talarico, the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, seems to be conducting damage control on his campaign website as the election approaches.

Having advanced past the primaries, Talarico has stealthily eliminated the endorsement page from his site, which previously showcased support from various radical left organizations and activist groups.

A snapshot of his site from the day of the primary displayed endorsements from entities such as the Houston LGBTQ+ Political Caucus, Stonewall Democrats, and Mothers Against Greg Abbott. However, this page has vanished following Talarico’s nomination for the upcoming general election.

Many of these organizations backing Talarico have championed controversial progressive agendas, particularly concerning gender ideology and childhood activism. They have pushed for policies that include transgender rights for minors and initiatives like “drag queen story hours” intended for youth audiences.

Concerns Over Endorsements

The Stonewall Democrats, a notable supporter, have vowed to hold candidates accountable if they deviate from their stance on transgender issues. Talarico has previously made headlines with his unusual remarks regarding “trans kids.”

Additionally, the Waco chapter of Indivisible, which has criticized federal immigration actions, has also shown support for Talarico. They have infamously branded ICE operations targeting criminal illegal immigrants as a “Terror Machine.”

Mothers Against Greg Abbott, featured on Talarico’s now-deleted endorsement page, has vocalized its opposition to immigration authorities, labeling ICE agents as “monsters” in past advertisements.

Despite this page’s removal, critics assert these endorsements are a lasting part of Talarico’s political narrative as he gears up for the general election against either incumbent Sen. John Cornyn or Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in November.
