It was reported yesterday that there are well over half a million illegal immigrants loose on the streets of America that have pending criminal charges or are convicted criminals.
The data was released by ICE to Rep. Tony Gonzales, who requested the data earlier this year. Of the 7 million for whom ICE has removal orders but are not in ICE custody, 425,431 are convicted criminals and 222,141 have pending criminal charges.
The crimes break down like this, according to Fox News:
Those include 62,231 convicted of assault, 14,301 convicted of burglary, 56,533 with drug convictions and . An additional 2,521 have kidnapping convictions and 15,811 have sexual assault convictions.
There are an additional 1,845 with pending homicide charges, 42,915 with assault charges, 3,266 with burglary charges and 4,250 with assault charges.
This morning NBC News decided to do a write-up on this but they used the data to blame Trump:
More than 13,000 immigrants convicted of homicide — either in the United States or abroad — are living freely in the U.S., outside of Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention, according to data ICE provided to Congress earlier this week.
The immigrants are part of ICE’s “non-detained” docket, meaning the agency has some information on the immigrants and they have pending immigration cases in the U.S., but they are not currently in detention either because they are not prioritized for detention or because ICE cannot find them.
Acting ICE Director P.J. Lechleitner sent the data, collected as of July 21, as part of a request sent in March from Republican Congressman Tony Gonzales of Texas.
It is not clear when the first migrant of the 13,000 crossed into the U.S.
During a campaign stop in Michigan on Friday, Trump used the data to criticize Vice President Kamala Harris for current immigration policies.
“I can finally look at them and say ‘I told you so,’ to the fake news,” Trump said. “These are hard, tough, vicious criminals that are free to roam in our country.”
It’s fine to point out that some of these now-criminal illegals came in under Trump. But what NBC News fails to point out is that many of them also came in within the last four years under Kamala’s reign as border czar.
Right after they point out that ‘many’ came in under Trump they then show Trump blaming Kamala, as if to suggest that Trump’s attack is unfounded. This is journalistic malpractice.
The truth is that ‘many’ of these illegals came in under Obama and Kamala too. In fact I would suggest that a very sizeable portion of these criminal illegals have come in during the last four years and Trump is absolutely right to hammer Kamala for this. But you wouldn’t know this reading NBC’s ridiculous article because they don’t break it down that way. They only finger Trump because they want him to lose the election.
Something else they leave out of their attack on Trump is that when his border was being overrun by illegals, Trump did something about it. He secured the entire border using agreements with other countries to do it. And what did Joe and Kamala do when they came into office? They dismantled all of Trump’s work and opened the border back up for illegals to come into this country in unprecedented numbers.
This is really worse than journalistic malpractice. It’s an intentional and egregious misrepresentation of the facts to hurt Trump and aid Kamala in the race for the White House.
