NATO Allies Signal Support for Strait of Hormuz Security

Western nations are banding together following Iran’s recent aggressions in the Gulf, expressing serious concern as vital shipping routes remain threatened.

Key leaders from the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Japan have signaled their willingness to assist in securing maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz amidst a series of Iranian attacks.

In a united statement, they declared, “We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We commend nations engaging in preemptive planning.”

The group strongly condemned Iran’s escalating actions, warning that the situation is deteriorating rapidly.

“We denounce in the utmost terms recent assaults by Iran on unarmed commercial vessels and civilian infrastructure in the Gulf, alongside the effective obstruction of the Strait by Iranian forces,” they stated.

They called on Iran to halt its aggressive maneuvers, demanding an immediate cessation of threats, drone strikes, and missile attacks aimed at commercial shipping while urging compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 2817.

They warned that disruptions to global shipping represent a direct threat to international peace and security, urging an immediate halt to attacks on civilian infrastructure, including vital oil and gas facilities.
