Mass Shooting at Christian School in Wisconsin Leaves Multiple Dead, Injured

Police in Madison, Wisconsin, responded Monday morning to a shooting at a private k-12 school, Abundant Life Christian School, which left multiple injuries.

The shooting began just before 11 am, according to the New York Post.

This is the second shooting at a Christian school this month. Two California boys were in critical condition after they were shot by a maniac at the Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo, California less than two weeks ago.

Little is still known about the incident, but the shooter is down, according to early reports.

Police described the situation as “an active and ongoing investigation” in a statement. “More information will be released as it is available. We currently need people to avoid the area.”

The shooter is “down,” according to Madison police.

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade attend the school.

Footage near the scene shows street closures as ambulances and police respond.

At least four people are dead, and another five are injured, after a shooting at a Madison, Wisconsin, school on Monday, according to police.

The update came in during a news conference with police. Officials at the start of the press conference said two people were killed.

The suspect in the school shooting is also dead, police said.

The person who police believe is responsible was confirmed to be a juvenile.

Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes gave the following update, indicating that “at least three people have lost their lives, including the juvenile person [shooter],” and seven were transported to hospitals in the area:

Barnes: Officers located a juvenile, who they believe was responsible for this, deceased in the building. Additionally, the officers began administering life saving efforts to anyone who was wounded and making sure that those persons were transported. What we know is that a total of about seven persons were transported from the scene to area hospitals for treatment. We know that at least three people have lost their lives, including the juvenile person. I don’t have any other information about those persons who have lost their lives, and I’m not going to release that until we have, of course, spoken with family members and ensuring that they are fully aware of this tragic, tragic scene that occurred today.
