Left-wing teachers in K-12 institutions across the country have encouraged students to protest against the Trump Administration, federal immigration operations in recent weeks, with some organizations and schools going so far as to organize events themselves.
In one example, a Boston school teacher uploaded a video of first-grade students parading in the classroom with anti-ICE signs, according to a report from MassDailyNews. The video — which was uploaded to social media without parental permission — shows students chanting “No Donald Trump” as they marched around the classroom.
In Ventura, California, Cabrillo Middle School supported a school-wide walkout in support of pro-immigrant causes, according to a parent who posted about it on social media.
In San Diego, teacher Bailey Hill Ringer posted a video showing her turning the U.S. flag upside down in her first-grade classroom and displaying an “abolish ICE” sign to encourage student protests. In response, the San Diego Unified School District released a statement confirming the incident is under investigation.

Schools in Bakersfield, California, also organized walkouts and anti-ICE protests, according to a report from Breitbart News.
In Glenwood Springs, Colorado, teachers at Glenwood Springs High School called out sick to join a national day of action against ICE, leading to the school’s closure due to staff shortages. “I have taught many students, some of whom are immigrants, and I think it’s really important that students see that their teachers stand in solidarity with them, regardless of their immigration status. We want them here. We love them,” Jen DeFord, a teacher at the school, told Aspen Public Radio.
In Minnesota, the Minneapolis Federation of Educators has been heavily active in anti-ICE efforts. “Our bosses are in the signal chats with us. Our elected officials are in the chats with us,” union president Marcia Howard told reporters, seemingly referencing a now defunct Signal chat that was used to organize illegal and violent activities across Minneapolis.

One Nebraska mother, whose daughter is recovering from injuries after being run over by an SUV, was furious when students participated in a school-sponsored walkout in favor of illegal aliens.
In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott condemned the Austin School District commented on Austin ISD’s handling of a walkout, saying, “AISD gets taxpayer dollars to teach the subjects required by the state, not to help students skip school to protest. Our schools are for educating our children, not political indoctrination.”
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) issued guidance warning that educators who facilitate walkouts could face sanctions, including certificate revocation, and stated, “The freedom of expression does not include the right to disrupt an orderly learning environment,” according to a report from the Houston Chronicle. The agency added that investigations into districts like the Austin ISD were underway.
