In a tweet today, Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany expressed her exasperation with softball questions that were asked at the begging of the White House press briefing.
McEnany wondered why reporters weren’t asking Joe Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre questions about Hunter Biden.
“So far, instead of drilling the press secretary with repeated questions about the Biden DOJ’s Hunter plea deal, a reporter just moved to asking about… when Joe Biden plans on visiting Africa and the White House dog biting incidents,” McEnany pointed out.
McEnany then exclaimed, “This is not parody!”
Fox News reported that the White House shut down questions on the collapse of Hunter Biden’s plea deal with Jean-Pierre saying, “I don’t have anything to share.”
Jean-Pierre stated that Hunter Biden “is a private citizen and this was a personal matter for him,” and directed questions to his legal representation.
However, Fox News reported that later Jean-Pierre was asked by one reporter, “Have the president and his attorneys been in touch with Hunter’s legal team today? And have they been keeping tabs on the proceedings?”
As she did in her opening statement, Jean-Pierre deferred to Hunter Biden’s representation, calling the matter “private.”
Another reporter pressed Jean-Pierre in regards to Joe Biden’s support for stricter gun laws and wondered if someone who was charged with possessing a firearm illegally, as Hunter Biden has been, should be charged to the full extent of the law.
